Product Review - Moroccan Argan Oil Ecostyler Gel

So you guys, I think I've finally made my peace with EcoStyler and my wash and go's.  Now that my hair has grown a little longer, and that I've realized how simple this styling option is, I'm actually loving it.

I prefer the Moroccan Argan Oil gel because it tends to be a little heavier than the Olive Oil version and weighs my curls down more.  I've been rocking the above wash and go since Saturday.  It's now Thursday.  Each morning to refresh my curls, I just spray with my water bottle, fluff my hair to it's original style and go.  Now that it's on average 75 - 80 degrees outside, I don't have to worry about leaving with wet hair.

The Ecostyler gels can be found at your local Sally's Beauty Supply, which often runs sales on this for $2.99 for the 32 oz jar.  Usually, it's $4.79.  The gel has almost an orange aroma to it, but I can't smell it in my hair.  I have found that applying a generous amount of coconut oil under this gel doesn't make it quite as hard but it does have a max hold of 10.  As you manipulate your hair from day to day, you'll find that the hair does lose some of the crunchy feeling but maintains the hold and curl pattern.

  1. NIce curl definition. I have the Olive Oil Eco-Styler, but haven't used it. I didn't like the hard crunch. I may have to try it again, but use oil underneath it. Thank you for the review.

  2. I did another wash and go with the Moroccan Argan Oil and this time I used Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie underneath. It was the softest wash and go I've had to date. I had to manipulate a couple of my looser strands to get some of the curl definition, but it worked! My Easter pics are from that particular wash and go. The only drawback is that it's not going to last as long. I'm only gonna get 4 day hair out of this. :(

  3. What is in your water bottle that you use to refresh your hair with?

  4. Currently, I'm just using water. But because I know I will be out in the sun more, I am going to add some other things to my water bottle for the spring/summer. Here is the recipie I will be using....water (about 75%), vegetable glycerin (25%), and about 20 drops of essential oil (probably tea tree oil or peppermint). I'll give a review after I see how it affects my hair. You should try it with me. I'll get the ingredients tonight and start moisturing tomorrow morning!

  5. Thanks for the info. I just started wearing my hair out on Friday, even tho I have been fully natural since Jan. Like you I had my last relaxer in June. You seem to have the same hair type as mine, tho I seems like my hair shrinks more than yours (which I don't really mind). It's about 4 in long now, but shrinks down to less than an inch! lol
